We are glad that you found us on your search to support Atlanta’s Westside. Supporters of the Beloved Community have answered the call to action and all service projects are now at capacity! On Saturday August 26th, 480 plus volunteers, both Westside residents and non-residents, will stand side-by-side working for the good of the Atlanta University Center, Ashview Heights, English Avenue and Vine City neighborhoods. OCTOBER DAY OF SERVICE INFORMATION
Saturday, October 14, all shifts are full

Return to Community Farmer’s Market Shift #1 (7:30 – 10:30 a.m.)   

Description: Calling all early birds! This first opportunity will support the set up crew and help assemble, place, and organize all vendor stations and community activities. Additionally, volunteers will set up the Fall Festival section of the farmers market meant to add some fall family fun to this inclusive event. We encourage our early shift of volunteers to serve in this 3 hour time slot and then stay after to enjoy the activities, music, and food. All ages welcome.

Return to Community Farmer’s Market Shift #2 (10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)   

Description: During our second opportunity to serve, volunteers will lead activity stations at the Westside Volunteer Corps Fall Festival The Festival includes fun for all such as Ghost Bowling, Face Painting, Pin the Spider on Its Web, Pumpkin Themed Twister, and much more! In addition to the fun, all those participating in the Return to Community Farmers Market are asked to participate in a service project by packing hygiene kits to be donated to local, nonprofit service providers. Volunteers during this shift may be asked to help run the hygiene kit station. We ask if brining minors that 12 and up volunteer for this opportunity as they will lead the activity stations benefiting younger kids and families.

Return to Community Farmer’s Market Shift #3 (12:30 – 3:30 p.m.)  

Description: Can’t make our morning volunteer opportunities? No worries, this shift is for you. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., our 3rd shift of volunteers will take over leading the Westside Volunteer Corps Fall Festival. The Festival includes fun for all such as Ghost Bowling, Face Painting, Pin the Spider on Its Web, Pumpkin Themed Twister, and much more! In addition to the fun, all those participating in the Return to Community Farmers Market are asked to participate in a service project by packing hygiene kits to be donated to local, nonprofit service providers. We ask if brining minors that 12 and up volunteer for this opportunity as they will lead the activity stations benefitting younger kids and families. The farmers market will wrap up at 2pm and volunteers will help breakdown all the activities once the crowd clears.
